Cobalt hydroxide
Cobalt hydroxide, with the chemical formula Co(OH)2, is generally a rose-red monoclinic or tetragonal crystal, insoluble in water, slightly amphoteric, insoluble in strong bases, but soluble in acids and ammonium solutions. Density is about 3.6g/cm3. melting point 1100-1200°C, amphoteric hydroxide.
Substance use
Used in chemical production as cobalt salt, cobalt-containing catalyst and electrolytic decomposer of hydrogen peroxide. In the paint industry, it is used as a drying agent for paints. Used as a colouring agent in the glass industry, etc.
Used in the production of cobalt salt, cobalt catalyst, battery electrode dip solution and paint desiccant; used in glass, enamel colouring, cobalt compounds, and paint and varnish desiccant
